Lake Pleasant, Phoenix, Arizona

Many would thing going out to the desert is just some huge waste land that is hot and muggy. Why on earth would you want to go? Just withing the short time we have been here, I have found that there is so much more to the desert. Lake Pleasant is one of those sites to see.

Lake Pleasant has a lot of wild life that many would really think of just going out to that region. We got up there and got to see owls, turtles, various types of eagles and hawk. Let alone lizards and some of those other crawling type of reptiles that seem to freak a few people out. I have to say my boy and I love that stuff.

The more you get to go around the Lake there are so many hiking trails to hike on. Though I wouldn't advise going around these as much during the summer time cause it does get a bit hot and snakes are known to come out more at that time. We actually didn't run into any the few times we went. We really had a great time here.

The information center is the best place to check in first. They are so helpful and will answer any questions that you have. The gift shop also has some very cool stuff for everyone. The rock collections are very nice Along with various things you can find in the desert as well.

The have a spot just outside where the turtle come out to get feed.If you have never seen a desert tortus see if you can catch them. The loads of Saguaro Catus all over the place here around the lake is Awesome. These things are huge. I will try to update this so you can see a few of them.

Lake Pleasant is one of the best places we been in awhile just to get away from it all for awhile. There is camping with hook up there as well, Bring you boat.
